This article will give you with a closer look at the top 10 players to keep an eye on this March and provide you with some valuable insight leading up to the madness.

Top 10 Players to Watch during March Madness

  1. Adamo Sanogo – UConn

After leading the Big East in rebounding last year, the 6’9”, 245lb Sanogo has continued to dominate this season for the Huskies and will certainly make his presence felt during March Madness. UConn is currently a top-10 team in the nation and the junior forward leads his squad in both points (16.9 PPG) and rebounds (7.2 RPG). If the Huskies are to go on a run in this tournament, expect Sanogo to play a major role on both ends of the floor.

  1. Jaime Jaquez Jr. – UCLA

The senior guard has been a catalyst for UCLA this season, leading the team with 17 points and 8 rebounds per game while guiding the Bruins to a 25-4 record and first place in the Pac-12. With his clutch shooting and elite athleticism, Jaquez Jr. will lead the way for a UCLA team that has their sights set on one of this year’s coveted No. 1 seeds.

  1. Santiago Vescovi – Tennessee

Hailing from Uruguay, Vescovi is enjoying an excellent senior season for Tennessee and looks to lead the Volunteers on a deep run in this year’s March Madness tournament. The 6’3” guard leads his team in scoring for the second straight season, can shoot from distance and does a bit of everything for Tennessee, who currently rank third in the nation.

  1. Armando Bacot – North Carolina

If you watched UNC’s run to last year’s National Championship Game, you’ll have a good idea of just how dominant Armando Bacot can be for the Tar Heels. The senior is having another strong campaign at Chapel Hill, putting up 16.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 55.3% from the floor. If Bacot can go on another late-season tear like last year, North Carolina could make some noise in this year’s March Madness tournament.

  1. Jalen Wilson – Kansas

As the leading scorer for last year’s National Championship-winning Kansas Jayhawks, Jalen Wilson knows all about coming up big when it matters most. No team has won back-to-back titles in college basketball since Florida in 2006 and 2007, but Wilson gives Kansas a legitimate shot to win it all once again in 2023. The junior leads his team in scoring and rebounding, and has been one of the best players in the country all season long.

  1. Drew Timme – Gonzaga

The fourth-year senior is gearing up for the final March Madness of his college career and has his Bulldogs sitting atop the WCC standings once again. Timme is an elite player with a future in the NBA, but for now he’s focused on finally bringing a national championship to Gonzaga. The 6’10” forward has been one of the best players in college basketball for the past few seasons and this will be his final chance to make his mark in the NCAA.

  1. Marcus Sasser – Houston

As the leading scorer on the No. 1 ranked team in the country, Marcus Sasser is an obvious addition to this list. While Sasser’s season was cut short last year by injury, the senior guard has picked up right where he’s left off, leading the cougars with 17 PPG. Considering that this team has made to at least the Elite Eight in each of the past two seasons, a healthy Sasser could be the difference maker for Houston in this year’s NCAA tournament.

  1. Oscar Tshiebwe – Kentucky

Arguably the most dominant player in college basketball today, Tshiebwe has once again been a force to be reckoned with in his final season at Kentucky. At 6’9” and 260lbs, Tshiebwe is a physical specimen who can use his size to impose his will on his opponent. The senior forward is putting up 16.4 points and 12.8 rebounds per game and remains the focal point of this blue blood college basketball program.

  1. Zach Edey – Purdue

Speaking of imposing figures, you may want to get familiar with Purdue junior Zach Edey. At 7’4” and 295lbs, the Toronto-native looks like a man among boys when he steps onto the hardwood and his numbers tell the same story – Edey is fifth in the nation in scoring with 22.3 PPG and leads the NCAA in rebounding with just under 13 boards per game. The towering center is the current betting favorite to win this year’s Player of the Year award in college basketball and will be the key to the Boilermakers success in the NCAA tournament.

  1. Brandon Miller – Alabama

Miller should be the best freshman in the 2023 March Madness tournament and leads an Alabama program currently ranked second in the country. The 20-year-old is a capable scorer and an elite shooter from the perimeter, connecting on 42.4% of his attempts from beyond the arc. The Crimson Tide forward has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons but make no mistake, Miller can compete with the best players in college basketball and will be looking to make a name for himself this during this year’s NCAA Tournament.
