NFL Power Rankings Week 8
Bovada NFL POWER RANKINGS – WEEK 8
The weekly Power Rankings are here again at Bovada – all the odds you need to make a wager on who will win Super Bowl 55, from safe picks to long shots.
Week 8 is coming up, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are suddenly the only unbeaten team in the NFL.
But it’s still anybody’s game, and there are plenty of teams with an average record now that could go on an unbeaten run of their own – maybe all the way to Tampa Bay in February.
#1 – The Kansas City Chiefs (6-1) +350
Still no reason to think the Chiefs won’t be there deep into January at least.
#2 – Baltimore Ravens (5-1) +650
The Ravens have ridden a soft schedule so far, but they still have two games against Pittsburgh, starting this weekend.
#3 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) +650
Averaging over 30 points per game this year, the Bucs just added Antonio Brown to their arsenal to move into our top 3.
#4– Pittsburgh Steelers (6-0) +750
The lone undefeated team in the league now, the Steelers should be a lock for the playoffs. How about going all the way?
#5 – Seattle Seahawks (5-1) +800
A last-second thriller against Kyler and Co. cost the Seahawks their first game of the year. They’re still strong with Russ at the helm.
#6 – Green Bay Packers (5-1) +900
As expected, Rodgers came roaring back after a big loss two weeks ago. He could be dropping dimes deep into the playoffs.
#7 – New Orleans Saints (4-2) +1500
The Saints keep finding ways to win close games. Three out of their four wins have been by 6 points or less.
#8– Tennessee Titans (5-1) +1800
It took the mighty Steelers to hand the Titans their first L of the season. Let’s see how they respond.
#9 – Buffalo Bills (5-2) +1800
They bounced back into the win column to halt a 2-game skid, but it was against the Jets. They’ve got a tougher stretch ahead.
#10 – Los Angeles Rams (5-2) +1800
An easy win against a tough Bears defense keeps the Rams in the Top 10.
#11 – San Francisco 49ers (4-3) +2200
A dominant win over the Pats means the Niners are still in contention, and don’t discount their recent Super Bowl experience.
#12 – Arizona Cardinals (5-2) +2400
The Cardinals could be for real, with Kyler Murray finding all kinds of ways to make plays.
#13 – Indianapolis Colts (4-2) +3300
Coming off a bye, the Colts are still in the hunt. But they’ll need to improve their 28th spot in rushing offense to help out Rivers.
#14 – Chicago Bears (5-2) +4000
The Rams just exposed the Bears’ lack of weapons on offense, so let’s see if they can make the right adjustments for the rest of the season.
#15 – Philadelphia Eagles (2-4-1) +5500
Jumping up four spots this week, the Eagles have the most talented squad in the league’s weakest division.
#16 – Cleveland Browns (5-2) +6000
OBJ is on IR for the rest of the season, but Baker showed he can get his other receivers involved and still win.
#17 – New England Patriots (2-4) +6600
The Patriots need to turn things around in a hurry in a competitive AFC East, but Cam’s looking pretty rattled since his return.
#18 – Las Vegas Raiders (3-3) +7500
The Raiders can put up points in a hurry, but they’ve gotta do better than allowing over 30 points per game if they want to climb the power rankings.
#19 – Carolina Panthers (3-4) +10000
CMC is close to returning to action, and he might be the difference-maker in these close games that the Panthers keep losing.
#20 – Miami Dolphins (3-3) +10000
Tua gets his first start this weekend, and the tough Dolphins aren’t anybody’s pushover anymore.
#21 – Los Angeles Chargers (2-4) +10000
Justin Herbert is looking like a seasoned vet, and the Chargers’ second half sked is way easier than what they’ve faced so far.
#22 – Detroit Lions (3-3) +12500
Matthew Stafford gives the Lions a shot in almost every game, and they’ve even got a wildcard shot if they can keep it up.
#23 – Dallas Cowboys (2-5) +15000
The Cowboys have slipped again in the power rankings. No Dak, no Dalton, and plenty of dissension all spell trouble in Big D.
#24 – Washington Football Team (2-5) +20000
They still have a solid chance to go for the NFC East crown, with Kyle Allen as their new/old QB back as the starter.
#25 – Denver Broncos (2-4) +30000
The Broncos just got busted by Brady, but they could surprise as a wildcard team in the wide open AFC.
#26 – Minnesota Vikings (1-5) +30000
Can the Vikings live up to their talent, after a bye week to re-group? They’ve played some top teams really tight – they just need Cousins to be consistent.
#27 – Atlanta Falcons (1-6) +40000
The Falcons find every way possible to lose games, but (no joke) they’re by far the most talented 1-6 team in the power rankings.
#28 – Houston Texans (1-6) +40000
Trading DeAndre Hopkins has hurt this team, and Deshaun Watson can’t do it all alone. Can they salvage the second half of the season?
#29 – New York Giants (1-6) +75000
A one-point loss to the Eagles last week showed us that – Daniel Jones’ wheels aside – the Giants are still not that mighty.
#30 – Cincinnati Bengals (1-5-1) +100000
Another close shootout loss for Joe Burrow and the Bengals, but they keep showing signs of promise.
#31 – Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6) +150000
Gardner Minshew can put up some points every time, but the Jaguars defense gives them right back – they’re allowing almost 32 points per game.
#32 – New York Jets (0-7) +250000
The Jets remain the only team without a win, and it looks like they might indeed be tanking for Trevor.
So It looks like the second half of the season might see some of the regulars like Kansas City and Green Bay solidify their top dog status, and our oddsmakers really like Tom Brady’s Super Bowl credentials. It still remains to be seen which team will bust out from the middle of the pack to make a deep playoff run.
