NFL Week 14 Betting Preview
There was plenty of excitement this past Sunday with a few surprising upsets, as well as two matchups being decided on the final play of the game. The Lions defeated the Vikings by scoring a game-winning touchdown with no time left on the clock to earn their first win of the season. The Ravens also made headlines as they scored a potential game-tying touchdown with little time left versus the Steelers; Baltimore opted to go for a two-point conversion and the win, but failed to execute. The betting odds for Week 14 are already live at Bovada Sportsbook and now is the time to do some handicapping homework. Let’s examine a few of the more intriguing betting matchups set for Week 14 in the NFL.
Week 14 NFL Previews
Pittsburgh Steelers (+3) at Minnesota Vikings (-3)
The 6-5-1 Steelers propelled themselves back into the AFC playoff picture with last week’s thrilling victory over the Ravens, but they don’t have much time to celebrate as they play the Vikings on Thursday. Coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Lions, Minnesota are now 5-7 despite having a lead of 7 points or more in every game this season. Things won’t get any easier for the Vikings with WR Adam Thielen likely to miss this contest after suffering a high ankle sprain in Detroit.
Dallas Cowboys (-4) at Washington Football Team (+4)
Dallas is averaging over 29 PPG and has been one of the more reliable betting teams in the NFL this year with an ATS record of 9-3. The Cowboys still lead the NFC East, however, 6-6 Washington have made up some ground thanks to fan favorite QB Taylor Heinicke and an impressive four-game winning streak. This is the first of two games in three weeks between these two rivals and the outcome will go a long way in determining who will win the division.
Buffalo Bills (+3.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3.5)
Betting on the 7-5 Bills has been a roller coaster ride so far this year; the team has alternated between wins and losses for eight straight games and is coming off a huge loss at home to the Patriots on Monday Night Football. Things won’t be any easier versus the 9-3 Bucs as the ageless Tom Brady continues to lead the NFL in passing yards and passing touchdowns. As a potential Super Bowl preview, this game is shaping up to be one of the more exciting betting matchups of Week 14.
Chicago Bears (+12.5) at Green Bay Packers (-12.5)
Fresh off their bye week, Green Bay is 9-3 and looking to lock up the NFC North. The Packers have covered the spread in 83% of their games this season and betting on them at Lambeau has been a lucrative strategy. Meanwhile, the Bears are spiraling, having lost six of their last seven games. It’s unclear who will be at QB for Chicago but the Bears may have a tough time keeping up with Green Bay as they deal with injuries to several key players, including WR Allen Robinson, DT Akiem Hicks and LB Khalil Mack.
Los Angeles Rams (+3) at Arizona Cardinals (-3)
The Rams snapped a three-game losing streak with last week’s thrashing of the Jaguars and will be looking to avenge their 37-20 loss to Arizona in early October. The Cardinals are the NFL’s first team to reach 10 wins this season and a sweep of the Rams on Monday Night Football will lock up the NFC West. Arizona is 9-3 ATS this season and are once again looking dangerous with QB Kyler Murray and WR DeAndre Hopkins back in the lineup.
